Maharashtra: Excess supply leads to a decrease in Veggie prices

Pune: The level of several vegetables has fallen because of the advantages of supply from various teasts and neighboring countries, agriculture produces market committee officials (APMC) on market pages and traders say.
More than 100 vegetable trucks have arrived at the market page of Madhya Pradesh, Karnataka, Gujarat and Andhra Pradesh in the last two days.
With this additional supply, the vegetable level has fallen 10-15% compared to the last two weeks, they said.
Vilas Bhujbal, former President, Market Traders Association Yard, estimated further decline in the coming days.
“Now, the level of all vegetables fell, such as Matar (Green Peas), usually RS50-80 per kg in the wholesale market, is currently sold at RS25-30 per kg.
Similar trends were observed in cauliflower, tomatoes, cucumbers, cucumbers, and carrot rates , “added Bhujbal.
Vegetables also come from 13 district tehsil in large quantities in the past four-five days, the Yard market official said.
On Sundays, the market yard received 1.25 lakh coriander bunches and 40,000 fenugreek bunches.
“Thus, the second level of this vegetable fell by RS3-RS5 in auction.
Coriander sells for RS3 to RS8, while Fenugreek is auctioned for RS12-RS16,” said the official.
Vendors and citizens claim that vegetable levels also have not dived in the retail market throughout the city.
“In areas like Kothrud, Colony Model, Koregaon Park, among other things, vegetables are usually sold at high prices.
Residents living in this area often pay high rates as high-billing vendors,” other APMC officials said.
