Mumbai: The Maharashtra Government will take the right action after studying the Bombay High Court order canceling the General Entrance Test (CET) for grade 11 revenues, the state education Minister Varsha Gaikwad, Tuesday.
The High Court has canceled the CET observing it is the case of “gross injustice” and will be a threat to the life of students in the middle of the Covid-19 pandemic.
Division of Judge R D Dhanuka and R I Chagla also directed the state government to start student admissions for grade 11 by considering the 10th grade brand and internal assessment and completing the receipt process within six weeks.

In accordance with the government notification issued in May this year, CET will be physically held on August 21 throughout the state for all grade 10 students before entering Junior College.

The online receipt process is only implemented in big cities such as Mumbai and Pune,” Minister said.
The government’s decision about conducting CET has triggered controversy as said by question paper will only be based on the Syllabus of Middle School Certificate Board (SSC).
The ICSE educational board students, CBSE and IGCSE have expressed their displeasure of CET’s steps.
Speaking on the decision of the High Court to cancel CET, Vilas Puriab, a teacher, said, “Disappointing decisions because many schools have provided very high internal values to students who enhance their overall score cards.
