Thane / Palghar: heavy rain pounding Maharashtra Thane and Palghar adjacent to Mumbai at night and on Thursday morning, which caused puddles and stones to fall in various places, applying train services and officials to say.

In Cherpoli, some people who were stranded were saved with the help of the ship, he said.
In Bhiwandi Taluka from Thane, a number of people stranded in the areas recorded by water from Padha, Kawad, Ganesh Nagar and Khairada were saved with the help of the Force Response Thore Disaster team, said Tehsildar Patil’s sister.
A number of people were also saved from the regions that flooded near the banks of the Kamwari river in Bhiwandi, another official said.
In the Wangni Badlapur, 10 people and 70 animals were saved from the ashram, officials said.
In addition, people stranded in several regions of Kasara and Titwala who were flooded in Thane also shifted to Zilla Parishad schools, they said.
Regional Disaster Management Cell Head Thane Santosh Kadam said they received 34 call trees falling in the city, but no one was injured in the incident.
Four trees fell in the Datta Wadi area in Mumbra, after which local fire extinguisher rushed to the place.
As a precaution, the occupants of six houses there shifted, said the official.
The water entered several houses in Ganesh Nagar in the hours and around 40 people were then saved from there by the disaster response team, said Kadam.
The Nashik-Jawhar route was closed after a landslide and the operation would likely be continued by Thursday night, the palghar collector Dr Manik Gursal in a message, and asked people to use the Trambak-Deogaon-Khodala route.
Various places watched floods in Vasai, Virar and other locations in Palghar, but there were no loss losses reported so far, officials said.
