Mumbai: Maharashtra completed 10 Crore vaccinations on Tuesday, second country after Uttar Pradesh (13.5crore) to reach a historical milestone.
Need Maharashtra for nine months to provide 10.01.37 366 doses.
Up to reach 10 crore vaccinations on September 26; West Bengal is a distant third, after being managed 8.22drore dosage until now.
Maharashtra has now been immunized close to three quarters (6,80crore) adult population with at least one shot and fully vaccinated 35% (3.20 crore).
To fully vaccinate adult 9.14crore, the state must manage another 8crore dose.
Mumbai and Pune have given more than one dose of each crore.
Mumbai has touched a dose of 1.45 crore, and Pune 1.22Crore.
Mumbai is the only district where 99.5% have received the first dose and 62% of both.
Among the 36 districts, barely dozen have covered more than 80% of the population with at least one shot.
The proportion of full immunization is less than 30% in 21 districts.
Dr.
Pradeep Vyas, the Head of Additional School (Health) said the state would aim to cover up the entire population that qualified with at least one shot on November 30.
“We have started the Har Ghar Dastak campaign and proactively approached those who missed their second dose and.
Those who have not received the first dose.
We will try that all meet the requirements of receiving at least one dose on November 30,” he said.
However, appealing to more than 2 years in the next 20 days will require an administration of almost 12 doses of lakh in a day, which seems to be a high commandment given that the average daily is almost 5Akh.
Authorities say it can be achieved because of abundant doses.
Dr.
Vyas confirmed that Maharashtra currently has 1.05 doses of crore covishield and 15 lakh doses of covaxin.
Chairman of the Minister of Uddhav Thackeray and the Minister of Health Public Rajesh Tope clapped to achieve achievements and said funds and labor are given to accelerate vaccination.
The Minister reiterated that the district had been asked to develop a micro plan to maximize coverage in the next 20 days.
Drive ‘Har Ghar Dastak’ has started nationally from November 3 to accelerate the first and second dose coverage.
Experts say Maharashtra has reached a stage where the team can face doubts to receive the first dose and satisfaction in taking the second.
“It must be handled with a micro strategy,” said Dr.
Chandrakant Lahariya, an epidemiologist and a health system expert.
He also warned people by taking vaccinations just because of the low Covid case.
“Vaccination has a different role.
This is insurance from future waves,” he said.
Positive sign is that vaccination has begun to take in Mumbai.
For the second consecutive day on Tuesday, there were more than one lakh vaccination (1,23,362).
