Mumbai: Maharashtra reported 1,632 new Coronavirus cases, slightly up from a day ago, and 40 new deaths on Friday, while 1,744 patients recovered from infection in the state, the Ministry of Health said.
Eight districts from a total of 36 did not report a new case of respiratory diseases.
With the addition of new cases and death, Covid-19 state counts rose to 65,99,850, while the toll rose to 1,39,965.
On Thursday, the country has recorded 1,573 new Coronavirus cases and 39 deaths.
The case fatality rate in Maharashtra stands at 2.12 percent, the department said.
With 1,744 patients dismissed from the hospital in the last 24 hours, the number of cases restored increased to 64.32.138, he said.
Now there are 24,138 active cases in the state, which the recovery rate of Coronavirus is at 97.46 percent.
At present, 1,98,958 people are in home quarantine and 998 in institutional quarantine, said the department in the bulletin.
Eight districts – Nandurbar, Latur, Parbhani, Gondia, Nagpur, Amravati, Gadchiroli, Wardha – do not record new cases.
The area under Akola and Amravati’s civil bodies also recorded zero cases, he said.
Mumbai recorded 420 cases and five deaths, said Bulletin.
The Mumbai circle consisting of the Thane district and city-side satellite cities, the circle of Nashik and Pune each recorded 10 deaths.
The Kolhapur circle recorded seven deaths, while the latch circle and Akola each recorded two and one death, said Bulletin.
The Nagpur and Aurangabad circle did not record fresh death in the last 24 hours.
As many as 1,32,209 coronavirus tests were carried out during the day.
From 6,16,26,299 Swab samples checked so far, 65,99,850 have returned positive (10.71 percent) for Covid-19 to Friday, said Bulletin.
