Mumbai: After two days reported more than 500 cases, Tally Covid in Mumbai fell to 453 on Sunday.
Tally in all states (2,294) is under 3,000 for the eighth day in a row.
However, given the higher daily calculation than usual in the last 10 days, the weekly Covid growth rate has increased to 0.07% after staying at 0.06% for almost a month.
The number of closed buildings also increased to 53 from an average of 40 weeks ago.
BMC officials are not too worried at this time.
“The positivity of daily tests is still around 1.2% and the number of critical patients is lower than before,” said an official.
According to the BMC dashboard, the number of critical patients was 298 and 25% of the 2,221 ICU covid bed in full city.
Of a total of 18,000 covid beds in the city, only 10% are occupied.
Dr.
Shashank Joshi, a member of the Covid-19 Government Task Force, said that the situation of Covid-19 “uncertain” at this time.
“Cases have increased in Mumbai and in some Ahmednagar villages.
We need to wait and watch these areas for several days to understand whether this increase will deteriorate or calm down,” said Dr.
Joshi.
The state has tried to increase the level of vaccination with a special drive, but a festive mood has dampened the campaign.
“At present, 65% of people in the state have received their first vaccine shots.
We need to add this number to 80%,” said an official of the Ministry of Health Public Health.
“Because vaccination is a voluntary decision, we cannot force anyone to take a shot.” In accordance with the Covid update on Sunday, the Mumbai region has the highest number of cases (860) and Pune is second with 647 cases.
Talin Covid as a whole country since March 2020 stood at 65 lakh, including 7.48 lakh in the city.
The state toll is 1,39,542, including 16,158 deaths in Mumbai.
