Mumbai: Although the Covid case in the city fell for the second consecutive day on Tuesday (349), the weekly graph showed a worrying increase.
This case on the first seven days of September was 2,918 – one third of the total counting of 9,048 in August.
Daily tolls are under five days old, but deaths between September 1 and 7 are also a third of victims in August 78.
As a comparison, the calculation of Maharashtra weekly cases is 28,882, or 18.6% of a total of 1.5 lakh cases.
.
The state adds under 4,000 cases for the second day in a row and death has lived under 100 for six days now.
On Tuesday, 3,898 cases and 86 deaths were reported, taking a total of 64.9 lakh and fatality to 1.37,897.
The Mumbai Tally’s case rose to 7.5 lakh and fatality up to 16,000 on Tuesday.
Active cases in the state and cities report a decline.
The state now has 47,926 active cases, where 4,165 is in Mumbai.
Doctors and BMC officials insisted too early to overwrite cases up as the beginning of the third wave.
Dr.
Shashank Joshi, a member of the task force, agreed.
“We need to watch the trend for two weeks before we can say the third wave is here,” he said.
“Cases have increased in the past week, encouraging us to be vigilant,” said the additional Commissioner of BMC Suresh Kakani.
“We must be careful at least until October 5, which will be two weeks after the GanPati festival ends.” BMC is worried about Milmaikars Traveling to the neighboring district for the Festival.
The current surge – from 196 on August 17 to 495 on September 4 – is being seen as a result of relaxing restrictions on travel and entertainment.
Health Minister Rajesh Tope said the state government would monitor a slight surge.
He warned the community against Meeting in crowded places in front of the Ganesh Chaturthi festival.
This is not rocket science — if there is an increase in the crowd of meetings, the case will increase.
while the cases are low, the state government is trying to vaccinate many people because it can ensure that if the wave The third will regard the country, it won’t be as bad as the second wave, Tope said.
Oxygen production is still a concern because the work to install new plants is proven to be time consuming.
“We have seen it in Kerala that the number soared post-festivity.
We have experienced a similar surge last year and we begged the public to follow all preventive measures during the celebration season,” Tope said.
