Maharashtra Logs 4.7K New Covid Case, Mumbai 267

Mumbai: The country recorded a significant decline in the new Covid-19 case, while Mumbai for seventh consecutive days, added less than 300 cases a day.
When the train and local malls opened on Sundays, civil authorities said that testing and search would be strengthened to record a surge in case.
The state on Sunday adds 4,797 cases, taking the cumulative number of Covid-19 cases to 63,92,660.
It also recorded 130 deaths, took the count of casualties to 1,35,039.
The highest number of cases comes from the pune circle (1,982) and 55 deaths.
Circle Kolhapur added 921 cases, Nashik Circle 901 cases and Mumbai circles added 699 cases.
Nagpur circles now report cases in one digit.
The entire circle of administration, including Nagpur, Bhandara, Gondia, Gadchiroli and Chandrapur, together reported seven cases and zero deaths.
Akola Circle, the first to see a surge in the second wave, see 35 cases on Sunday.
Amravati, which was once a hotspot, reported six cases and zero death.
After unfurling the flag on Sunday at the State Secretariat, Mantalaya, CM Uddhav Thackeray filed an appeal to people to follow the appropriate behavior of Covid despite controlled cases.
“We have experienced a surge in Covid cases, last year and in the second wave.
Even though the numbers under control when we now, we must be vigilant and obey the appropriate behavior of Covid,” Thackeray said, indicating that the availability of oxygen was limited.
Taskforce members said the availability of oxygen remained the only weak point of the state in preparedness for the third wave.
Mumbai reported 262 cases that took city calculations to 7.39,331.
Death continues to be in one digit.
Four deaths were reported on Sundays, taking the toll amount to 15,981.
Active cases fell below 3.096.
Three of the four deaths were senior citizens.
MMR also continues to report less than 1,000 cases a day.
On Sundays, 699 cases and 12 deaths were reported from MMR.
Supplementary City Commissioner Suresh Kakani said the medical infrastructure of the city was directed to overcome bursts in the case.
“We have the knowledge and experience of the first and second waves to fall back.
The covid jumbo center has been operationalized when testing will also increase,” he said, adding that in the second wave, Mumbaikars was faster in seeking treatment that helped reduce the case and critical death .
“Mumbai mortality rates in state waves remain below 1% and less than the average of other districts,” he said.
