Mumbai: Maharashtra reported 9,170 new Koronavirus cases, 1,103 more than the day before, and seven deaths on Saturday, said the Ministry of Health.
The country, who witnessed a dramatic increase in the Coronavirus case in the last 11 days of 2021, also recorded six new omicron variants.
On Friday, the country has reported 8,067 cases of Covid-19 and eight deaths.
On Thursday, new cases were 5,368 and 22 deaths.
Calculate the Covid-19 case from Maharashtra rose to 66.87,991 on Saturday, said an official.
The victim of the pandemic has increased to 1,41,533.
The state also recorded six new omicron cases – all of Pune.
The country has so far recorded 460 omicron cases, marked as ‘variants of concern’ by WHO.
The case fatality rate in the state is 2.11 percent, the official said.
A total of 1,445 patients were sent back, taking the recovery calculation so far until 65,10,541.
The coronavirus recovery rate in the country is 97.35 percent.
Maharashtra now has 32,225 active cases.
Mumbai recorded 6,347 new Covid-19 cases, up sharply from 5,428 the day before.
Overall 451 patients were sent back, taking the recovering amount to 7.50,158, a BMC official said.
The overall recovery rate of the city is 95 percent, he said.
Now there are 22,334 active cases in Mumbai, he added.
The level of multipliers in Mumbai is now 251 days, he said.
The case growth rate for December 25 – December 31 was 0.28 percent, he added.
