Maharashtra: Man is held to make a fake pan card

Palghar: A man has been arrested in Valiv in Palghar Maharashtra Regency for allegedly running a business to make a fake pan card, police said on Saturday.
The defendant, Satya Prakash Hiralal Mourya, 29, was arrested on Thursday, after an attack at his photo studio in Sativali Village, from where the fake permanent account number (PAN) was restored, they said.
The anti-terrorism forces from Police Commissioner Mira Bhayandar-Vasai Virar took this action based on a tip-off.
The police have learned that the defendant prepared a fake pan card without a document at a cost of Rs 1,000 per card.
Thus, the photo studio is raided and besides fake pan cards, laptops, printers, and laminated machines are confiscated, they say.
A violation under the IPC 420 section (cheating), 465 and 467 (both related to counterfeiting) were registered against Mourya at the Valiv Police Station in Vasai, police said.
