Thane: The body of the 36-year-old contract worker was found in a lake in Maharashtra from Thane and the police suspecting was a murder case, an official said on Thursday.
Laxman Shelar who died, was identified by Laxman Shelar, a resident of Ghansoli in Navi Mumbai Township, has been lost and family members filed a complaint at the Rabale Police Station on August 27, said Inspector of the Vitthalwadi Police Station, Dhananjay Pundal Kapre.
Then, the victim’s body which was very decomposed was found in a lake in Chinchada in Kalyan City Thane District on August 30 and the police then registered a report on an accidental death, he said.
However, during postmortem, a sign of injury was found in the victim’s neck, after the police on Wednesday registered a case against unknown people under the Indian Criminal Code 302 section (murder) and 201 (causing evidence of violations), officials said.
Efforts outperformed the perpetrators and to ensure the motive behind the murder, he said.
