Maharashtra: Metro Comfortable e-bikes attract commuter

Nagpur: Electric bicycle, pilot experiments started by Mahametro about eight months back, capturing people’s interests, with revenue Rs 2.26 lakh produced from it to date.
After signing a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the private company KHS Associates, Mahametro launched an environmentally friendly vehicle in the city in November last year.
According to officials, a total of 638 vehicles have been completed on e-scooters, with more than 1,000 people who downloaded the mobile app.
According to the MoU, the e-bike operator has provided bicycles in different locations for passengers.
“Bicycles are under the non-motorized transportation category and thus users do not require a compulsory license,” the official said.
The use of e-bike is fully based application – residents must download the application and upload the aadhar card details and their electricity bills.
“This application has a different tariff system on every hour and weekly basis.
The average cost is Rs 1 per minute.
After the order is confirmed through the application, commuting can go directly to the e-scooter hub and unlock the vehicle by scanning the code from their cellphone , “Officials said.
At present, there are two electronic bikes each at the airport, Ajni, Khapri, Sitabuldi, Local Nagar, Wadi, W Building (Mihan), Manish Nagar, CRPF and other hubs.
Overall, 22 e-scooters are available in the city.
“We got a great response from the airport station where tourists stayed in hotels and residents had booked e-bikes for hours and even a week.
Bicycles are also in many requests in CRPF, Sitabuldi and several other stations,” officials said.
Toi has known that the city is expected to get more e-scooters in Jhansi Rani Square, Wasudev Nagar, Chhatrapati Square and other areas.
“We also look forward to starting hub e-bikes in areas where demand is more, especially near the office,” said an official to TI.
The cost of one e-bike is around Rs 72,000.
“At present, Mahametro focuses on bringing recent connectivity to riders at affordable prices than commercial advantages.
We are very happy with the responses and expectations that use will increase when the limit begins to open,” Officially added.
In the release on Saturday, Mahametro stated that it was now cheaper to travel with Metro instead of two-wheeled vehicles.
“The Metro only collects Hospital 10 to travel more than 10 kilometers.
We appeal to residents to use the Most Cards, General Mobility Cards, in a larger amount.
You don’t need to bring cash to buy tickets because you can use this card.

To encourage residents to use cards, Mahametro provides a 10% discount for each trip.
