Chandrapur: Pune bench from the National Green Tribunal (NGT), in a temporary order, has rejected the Mahagenco Prayer and Super Thermal Power Station Chandrapur (CSTP) for the closure of litigation of public interest (pill) for high pollution.
The bench also maintains the need for continuous monitoring of the level of pollution to ensure that the emissions norm fully fulfills.
The order came after hearing a recent voice on the pill, which was put forward by Madhusudan Roongta’s industrialist to the state of Maharashtra and others, with high pollution caused by the Mine CSTPS and West West (WCl) in Chandrapur.
The bench consisting of justice judiciary M Satyanaranyanan and members of Arun Kumar Verma takes into account the application of the Petitioner about the Committee Report along the Central Polution Control Board (CPCB) and the Maharashtra State Pollution Control Agency (MPCB) which has been observed almost twice as much as SO2 emissions from Specified limits and CSTP units continue to violate environmental norms.
Advisers for Mahagenco and CSTP were delivered that unless the problem of flying ash management, all weaknesses and other disadvantages showed it was set correctly.
Advice also submit supporting documents for that effect.
Advice that appears for MPCB pray for permission to submit additional affidavit with the required details.
The bench received a request and directed the board to submit it in the next hearing scheduled for November 24.
The bench has also highlighted the fact that in a written statement by MPCB on March 12, 2018, it has mentioned WCL as a major contributor to air pollution and the level of air pollution is very significant as possible due to bad weather conditions and open vehicles used for coal transportation.
