THANE: Thane mayor Naresh Mhaske on Friday held a meeting to solve the problems raised by resident physicians of civic-run hospitals in Maharashtra’s Thane town, an official said. The mayor called a meeting of analysts and piled the problems such as the requirement for extra stipend for doctors, ” the official stated. It had been determined that another stipend of Rs 10,000, aside from the present Rs 45,499, would be compensated to physicians with retrospective impact, ” he explained. At least 160 physicians were denied the extra amount from the government, he explained, adding that physicians will now buy stipend very similar to their counterparts in civic-run hospitals in Arabian Mumbai.
