Maharashtra reported the first case of the Zika virus

Pune: The first case of Zika virus infection in Maharashtra has been reported from Pune District, said the Ministry of Health statement on Saturday.
Female patients have fully recovered, he said.
“He and his family members have no symptoms,” said the statement.
The 50-year-old woman, a resident of Belsar Village in Purandar Tehsil, received a test report on Friday.
The report said that in addition to Zika’s infection, he was also infected by the Chickenya virus.
The government medical team visited the village on Saturday and met with members of Sarpanch and Gram Panchayat and instructed them on precautions, said the statement.
The Zika virus spread through the bite of the Aedes Aegypti mosquito and most of the patients have no symptoms.
Typical symptoms include fever, body pain and conjunctivitis, and pregnant women must be more careful, the statement said.
