Maharashtra saw 3,502 new Covid-19 cases, 17 deaths

Mumbai: Maharashtra on Sunday reported 3,502 new coronavirus positive cases, more than 850 days ago, which took state infection to 78,42,949, while 17 deaths pushed tolls to 1,43,404, the health department said.
On Saturday, the state has recorded 4,359 cases – more than a thousand less than the previous day – and also reported 32 deaths related to pandemic.
At present, there are 45,905 active cases in Maharashtra.
A total of 9,815 patients were dismissed during the day, which increased the overall recovery rate in the state to 76,49,669, said in a statement, adding that the recovery rate was 97.54 percent.
With 1,34,634 people tested on Sundays, the number of cumulative tests reached 7.64.37.416, the department said.
The state also reported 218 cases of omicron variants, where 172 were in Mumbai, 30 in Pune City, 12 at Gadchiroli and 14 in Pune rustic.
Until now, a total of 3,986 patients were found to be infected with the omicron variant.
Of them, 3,334 has run out after a negative test for infection.
Mumbai City saw 288 new cases and one death, which took Caseload to 10.53,132 and the toll became 16,683.
The Mumbai division, which consists of megalopolis and its satellite city, reported 587 new cases and four deaths.
The calculation of the case has now reached 22,24,639 and 36,817.
Nashik Division reported 571 new cases, Pune Division 932 cases, Division Kolhapur 173 Case, Division Aurangabad 88 Case, Division Latur 148 Case, Division Akola 438 Case, said Department.
