Mumbai: Maharashtra on Tuesday reported 3,530 new Coronavirus cases and 52 fresh deaths, taking infection calculations to 65.04.147 and tolls to 1,38,221, said a health department official.
The number of everyday cases and death witnessed an increase compared to Monday, when the country reported 2,740 cases of Covid-19 and 27 deaths.
The official said 3,685 patients were dismissed from the hospital in the last 24 hours, pushing cumulative recovery to 63.12.706 and left Maharashtra with 49,671 active cases.
The state has 2,96,176 people in house quarantine and 1,875 others in institutional quarantine, he said.
The official said the recovery rate of Covid-19 Maharashtra was at 97.06 percent, while the mortality rate was 2.12 percent.
The cumulative number of Coronavirus tests in the country rose to 5.62.25,304 with 1.37,190 new tests, the lowest in recent weeks, carried out in the last 24 hours, he said.
A total of 10 districts – Dhule, Nandurbar, Jalna, Nanded, Akola, Amravati, Washim, Wardha, Gondia and Gadchiroli (rural areas) and three city companies – Malegaon, Chandrapur and Dhule (city center) did not report Covid- 19 cases.
The official said the Ahmednagar district reported 870 the highest new infection, followed by Mumbai District in 372, while Satara Regency noted a large portion of death at the age of 11 years in the last 24 hours.
Among the eight areas of Maharashtra, the Pune region reported 3,255 new Covid-19 cases, followed by 1,016 in the Nashik region.
While the Mumbai region reported 724 new cases, the Kolhapur region recorded 342, Latur 143, Aurangabad 22, Nagpur 15 and Akola region 13.
According to officials, between 56 fresh fatality, the highest in the Pune region, was attended by 12 of the Mumbai region.
Significantly, the Aurangabad and Akola regions did not report new deaths, while the Nashik region recorded 11 deaths, Six Kolhapur, Four and Nagpur regions.
The official said Mumbai watched 367 new Covid-19 cases and five deaths, while Pune City reported 185 infections and four deaths.
Among 49,671 active cases in the state, the Pune district has the highest at 13,101, he said.
The official said among 63.12.706 patients restored in all states, Pune District contributed to the highest at 10,98,441.
