Palghar: Shiv Sena MP Rajendra Gavit has given a 25,000 RS check to the family of a 48-year-old tribe man who was found dead in a village in Palghar Regency last month after being suspected of being forced to work as a laborer bound.
He met family members of the villagers on Tuesday when he gave them a check and grain food, the release from the Gavit office said.
Lok Sabha members from Palghar also promised two acres to families for their livelihoods and directed sub-divisions officers to regulate the benefits of Gharkul Yojana for the wife and two daughters who died – Kalu Dharma Pawar, he said.
MP also directs revenue officials to regulate the education of two girls at the school of ashram (housing).
The opposition leader in the Legislative Council of Pravin Darekar, who also visited the family a few days back, called the male death incident as “serious” and said they would not remain until justice.
Pawar was found dead on July 13.
According to the police, post-mortem reports revealed that the sign of liguatur was found on the pawar neck.
SP Dattatreya Shinde on Wednesday said it was a suicide case suspected despite the investigation to confirm it.
He also said that no bound labor system found operating in the village of Ase in Mokhada Tehsil, where the incident occurred.
