MUMBAI: The Consumer Guidance Society of India (CGSI), a customer rights NGO, declared on Thursday the findings of a research on 40 oximeters from the open marketplace, demonstrating that at least 15 percent, or half of themdid not conform to standards.
Others were comparable however prohibitively costly, else not correctly packed.
The research analyzed pulse oximeters being offered at the open markets of Mumbai, Navi Mumbai, Thane and everywhere from Maharashtra.
Dr Manohar Kamath, honorary secretary of CGSI, stated,”While 40 pulse oximeter trials didn’t comply with standard specifications.
Most other or 85 percent didn’t comply but confronted other problems.” CGSI said lousy quality oximeters imply that a patient will not understand if his oxygen saturation levels drop or could activate anxiety in other people with standard oxygen levels.
