Thane: Unit Thane Party Bharatiya Janata (BJP) said it would hold a taluka level protest on Wednesday against the “failure” of the Maharashtra government to protect the OBC quota in the local body.
The OBC quota was hit by the Supreme Court, who said the reservation could not exceed 50 percent of the total seats in the local body.
Overcoming a press conference here, Head of BJP and MLC Niranjan Davkhare and Local MLA Sanjay Kelkar said the lack of efforts the government Uddhav Thackeray led to legal setbacks.
The two leaders said BJP wanted the MVA government to collect empirical data in other classrooms as soon as possible and take every step to restore quota.
