Initially, MPGimer would provide PG medical education in seven disciplines – general medicine, pediatrics, general operations, orthopedics, anesthesia, barriers and gynecology, emergency welfare and emergency treatment.
“The Commission will decide on a seat for the receipt of PG in all seven disciplines.
I think there will be at least 50 seats for all disciplines,” he added.
Students will initially attend classes in Nashik Civil Hospital.
Dormitory facilities will be on the Muhs campus.
Nashik civil hospital has around 600 beds with six operational theaters.
“I was impressed with the medical infrastructure at Nashik’s civil hospital during my last visit there.
The seminar and college will be held at the hospital itself,” Kanitkar said.
‘Demise CDS is a personal loss for me’
MUHS VC, Lt Gen (DR) Madhuri Kanitkar, described the death of the Chief of Staff Bipin’s defense, his wife Madhulika and 11 IAF personnel and other soldiers as ‘personal losses’.
He said he tried to call Madhulika after the initial information about the accident entered.
“The phone, however, cannot be reached.
I am worried there is something serious,” he said.
He said that during his post as Deputy Head of Defense Staff Integrated in Delhi, he often interacted with care.
“He is very productive, clearly in his thoughts and hard workers.
He was never used to going home before 8-9 at night.
Death is a national loss but for me it is a personal loss,” he said, adding that he was very close to Madhulika.
