Thane: The day after TMC announced his decision to hold the salaries of his employees who had not taken the Covid-19 vaccine, the city trade union took a strong objection to it and threatened to hold fierce agitation, questioning the validity of the mandate.
“There may be some who might not take Jab.
But such decisions cannot be imposed on any employee and stop their salary such as giving him penalties.
We will definitely oppose this decision and the stage of bitter protest if the administration implements it,” said Ravi Rao, President, Union City workers.
Traders, also on TMC radar, say while most of them have taken Jab, it will be difficult to force those who don’t want to get it.
Mayor Naresh Mhaske said it was mandatory for the benefit of citizens.
