Kalyan: Vastu consultant from Kalyan, Dr.
Geta Jakhotiya (47), and two employees – Navnath Ghuge (30) and Akshay Deshmukh (22) – have been arrested for having a private part of 50 male monitor lizards other than 250 black corals.
The consultant has prepared this in his office located in Santoshi Mata Road in Kalyan (West).
These items are intended to be sold to their clients when they are considered a talisman for luck and prosperity.
However, dealing with these items is a crime, because it violates the action of wildlife (protection).
The Black Coral and Lizard’s Penis Monitor, known as ‘Hatha Jodi’ in local languages, are also sold for use in black sciences and also as Ayurvedic drugs, said Sunish Subramanian Kunju, volunteers of the Wildlife Crime Control Bureau (WCCB).
The action was taken together by the WCCB team and the Ministry of Forestry.
