quote:
What do you say about directing ‘Nay Nay Varan Bhat Loncha Koncha Kon’?
People say that the hard-hitting films ‘Vaastav’ but I think ‘Lalbaug Parel’ is a film that is more hard-hitting than ‘Vaastav’.
‘Lalbaug Parel’ is based on the famous play writer Jayant Pawar’s ‘Adhantar’.
He also wrote a story ‘Nay Nay Varan Bhat Loncha Koncha Kon’ and it’s very disturbing when I heard it for the first time.
So, we decided that we were making a film with the same title.

When we wrote this movie, it was clear that we would not be romanticized way.
If the children of the time use harsh words like that why not show that such.
So, we decided to do it like that.
I appreciate that the censorship board had a pretty liberal about this movie.
It’s a dark movie and I can only say that if you use dark film look like it just came to the cinema.
I want the right audience to watch my films.
How do you manage to convince Prem Dharamadhikari and Varad Nagwekar?
It was very challenging and they just 16.
It was a very difficult task to throw two boys are.
I know Prem Dharamadhikari for my film ‘Bhai: Vyakti Ki Valli’ in which he played the school-going Bal Thackeray.
After that, he did a web series and Hindi film ‘Antim: The Final Truth’ with me.
There is a sudden spike in COVID 19 cases during the last few days and you released Nay Nay Varan Bhat Loncha Koncha Kon ‘…
We wanted to release the film on January 21.
Due to a sudden spike in COVID-19 cases, all the theaters were closed and it was clear that the Hindi filmmakers will not take the opportunity to release their films during this period.
So, we decided that we would release our Marathi films on Jan.
14.
How do you balance your career as an actor and as a director?
To b honest, I was more focused on directing than acting.
Because I get a good role today.
And that’s why I envy Pankaj Tripathi because he has been offered a very good role.
So, I am not interested in doing a small role.
According to our sources, you’re directed ‘Nay Nay Varan Bhat Loncha Koncha Kon’ at very high speeds.
Is this true?
Yes, we do this film at very high speeds.
I am not allowed to disclose the duration but all I can say is that ‘Nay Nay Varan Bhat Loncha Koncha Kon’ is the fastest film in my career.
We wrote this seven years ago and we had a bit of time before the ‘Antim’.
So, we did it.
It is very sad that Jayant Pawar is not with us today to see this movie.
I really loved the work Jayant because of the way he observes.
We also wanted a film on the history of mill Mumbai to the mall.
I would definitely do this film as a tribute to Jayant Pawar.
