New Delhi: Previously the maker of fueled diesel vehicles, Mahindra & Mahindra was changing direction and bet bravely on vegetables.
The company will launch eight new electric SUVs – some under the new brand – for the next six years because it invests Hospital 3,000 Crore in sustainable mobility while remaining open for private strategic funding and funding.
Anand Mahindra-LED Company – which is probably the first large automatic company in India to see electricity but failed to maintain Gusto afterwards – expand electricity to the range of light commercial vehicles (LCV) also where else planned eight new eVs in 2026.
Under leadership Anish Shah’s new boss, the company has explained that it will not try to attract buyers with ‘soft’ offroaders but focus on what according to ‘authentic SUV’, especially built around its top brands – Bolero, Scorpio, XUV and Thar .
Electric SUVs are likely to cause other new brands.
“A lot of work happens (inside the company) to prepare for EV.
We are the first to bet on green, and have a lot of experience under our belt …
You could say the best,” Shah, MD & CEO M & M , said when asked about plans in Greens.
He said he was “open” to get outside funds to power the EV business and even surround the green portfolio to separate subsidiaries, something done by Tata Motors.
“We are open to all options …
We are open to funding from outside for faster growth …
Private equity and other strategic partners help us grow faster,” Shah said.
