Coimbatore: India does not need uniformity but unity, and abbreviation of the unity in diversity, former Union leader and Congress Jayaram Ramesh said here on Sunday.
Spotting at the Tamil 2021 literary award organized by Wishnupuram literary circle in the city, Ramesh said that support for Sanskrit provided by the central government was 100 times more than what was given to languages like Tamil, Telugu, Marathi and Odia.
Tamil was declared a language Classic in 2004-05 by the government taken by these efforts by efforts.
