Coimbatore: Contract conservation workers with City Corporation have urged the Civic Agency to release their salaries before 10 every month.
There are 4,000 contract workers, who draw a monthly salary of around Rs 10,500, with Civic’s body.
Although there are rules that the contractor must pay salaries to employees without delay and get the number replaced from the Civic body later, the first is rumored to openly violate the same thing.
Woman Carmancy Worker said, “We expect a salary on Tuesday., But in vain.
When a salary is delayed, we are forced to borrow money from loan sharks.” Workers said contractors pay them only between 10 and 15 every month.
In the petition to the corporate commissioner King Gopal Sunkara on Wednesday, R Damodaran, Damodaran, President of the President, all Indian Council Union Unions, urged him to spread the salary immediately.
He said they had brought this problem for the notification of the corporate commissioner last month.
