Kolhapur: Progressive activist Veteran N D Patil died in Kolhapur on Monday.
He was 93.
Dearly called ND, a former minister in the Maharashtra government suffered from brain strokes on January 11 and could not speak.
“He was treated in a private hospital and continued to undergo a supportive treatment.
He was not given further care considering his age,” said Cardiologist Ashok Bhupali.

Condolences poured not only from Maharashtra but also from various parts of the country and on social media.
Head of NCP Sharad Pawar visited the hospital to give his final respects.
Pawar’s younger sister married ND and despite their ideological differences, the two leaders ensure that differences did not affect their family ties.
Speaking in Kolhapur, said pawar, “ND is left by ideology and we are supporters of Gandhi-Nehru.
Therefore, ideological differences exist.
ND has been read well.
He is a thinker.
He ensures that his development reaches the last mile.
I hope the generation Young was inspired by the achievement of ND and they helped poor people, farmers and everyone who really needed help.
“ND was the Minister of Cooperation in the Pawar Cabinet between 1978 and 1980.
During his duty as minister, ND formulated a plan to buy cotton from farmers and ensure ‘Kapus Ekadhikar Yojana’ changed the life of the farmer’s lakh.
Even before he was made a minister, ND was known for years especially for his contribution to the Maharashtra Samyukt movement which was launched for a separate engine with Mumbai in it.
Chairman of the Minister of Uddhav Thackeray, in a condolences, said the bond, his father Balasaheb shared with ND.
“Apart from being the ideological heir of progressive leaders, ND is a supporter of Staunch Akhand Maharashtra, which includes Bellagavu and other border areas.
Every time it repeats to roar for Maharashtra rights, ND is always the first to support.” The remnants of Mortal ND will be stored at Shahu College in Kolhapur for citizens to pay their last respect before cremation is done with the presence of only 20 close relatives on Tuesday.
