Rajkot: The organisers of a mass wedding occasion of 12 orphan women together with the director of a union hall were detained by Rajkot town authorities on Sunday on behalf of violating Covid-19 plans.
Aji dam authorities officers said that they received a tip off on mass wedding in which Covid principles were flagrantly violated.
“We’ve detained the organisers Roshan Kumar alias Suraj Ramji Pandya (32), his spouse Jagruti Pandya and director of the union hallway Mahesh Mayani (53) for inviting visitors over the maximum price limit of 50 as accepted by the authorities for social gathering below the Covid-19 guidelines.
There were more than 250 guests in attendance at the case,” police said.
The union was organised in Shangar hall situated near Ranuja temple around Kothariya Road from town.
The mass union was coordinated by Shree Ram Dhun Santvani Mandla handled by Roshan Kumar along with Jagruti Pandya.
