Letter: The 30-year-old building from housing housing Station Gate Majura was destroyed on Tuesday, producing a large dust cloud that covered a large area.
Firefighting stations are on the route proposed by the Metro Rail.
“Visibility was very hit on the road.
Fortunately, no accident occurred but there was panic for a while.
One side of the road was closed for traffic but the dust spread to the other side too,” said the shop owner in the nearest complex.
Municipal Corporation (SMC) letters claim that they did not receive complaints about any problems made in place.
It is mandatory for every developer to cover the construction or dismantling place so that it does not cause interference in a side by side.
“I will ask if there is negligence while doing demolition work.
The work is being carried out by the contractor.
We did not receive any complaints,” said an official in the Western Zone SMC.
“The building is old and weak.
SMC rebuilds fire stations and complex quarters on the same campus along with infrastructure for the Metro,” the officer added.
