Gurgaon: Commissioner Divisia Rajiv Ranjan held a review of a review on Friday about the revision of the voter list with Gurgaon Regency officials, Rewari and Mahendergarh Regency.
In the meeting, Ranjan directed officials to make intensive efforts to increase voter registration.
He also asked the deputy commissioner from the three districts to oversee the revision of the selection roll and stated the reason if there was an increase in voters from certain regions.
In the meeting, officials showed ‘indifferent attitude’ political parties in appointing a booth-level agent (Blas) to make the selection of roll-free rolls and help the Booth level (BLO) officer in registering new voters.
Political parties have not appointed one BLA in these three districts, officials said.
Deputy Commissioner Yash Garg said 54.3% of the first voters in Gurgaon had downloaded their election photo identity card and the others were also encouraged to do so.
“The download rate can be increased by arranging camps in college and university.
The form for registration of voter voters who have just fulfilled the requirements can be filled with forms for SIM.
The voter registration form can also be filled online through public service centers,” said Ranjan.
Officials were also instructed to provide an identity card and give a name to blos to avoid the hassle during field work to update the selection list.
Emphasizing the use of the ‘Garuda’ mobile application, Ranjan requested officials to ensure that Blos enrolled on the application.
Of the 1,236 blo in Gurgaon, 980 has been registered in the application so far, the official said.
