Chennai: In an effort to make the head of the company and the municipalities appropriately responsible for the deaths of manual scavenging, Madras HC has directed them to apply for a written business with the effect that there is no manual scavenger job that is permitted to do in their jurisdiction.
“The court can, in the end, suggests such an effort equipped with any commissioner relating to the corporation or head of the municipality when assuming the office in the future,” the first bench from the Chairman of Judge Sanjib Banerjee and Justice PD Audikesavalu said on Wednesday.
It passes through the order on the batch of a request that is looking to end the manual scavenger.

The corporate commissioners and head of the city, as shown in the previous order, will be personally responsible if there is a manual recipulation activity detected or accident occurred at that time, he added.
“The state must try to get the right engine or increase the gutter path to ensure that no manual recipulation is needed anywhere in the state,” Bench said.
The court postponed this problem to November 10 for the state to place the template for the norms that would be issued in this matter.
