New Delhi: noted “significant surge” in the Covid-19 case in this country, the center on Wednesday wrote to all countries and UTS urged them to the Direct Department concerned to ensure adequate buffer stocks of medical oxygen for at least 48 hours and revive Oxygen control room.
The UNI Ministry of Health said the new emerging scenario requires direct steps by the state and UTS to ensure the availability of optimal medical oxygen in all health facilities.
In a letter to the State and UTS, Union Secretary of Union Rajesh Bhushan said that private health facilities that provide oxygen therapy services can be assessed and their medical oxygen infrastructure capacity needs to be explored.
A strategy and mechanism that is possible to utilize the private sector at the time of the peak of demand can be explored, he suggests.
Bhushan describes that the LMO tank in health facilities must be sufficiently filled and the supply chain without interruption for their recharging must be ascertained.
Said that health facilities throughout the country have been strengthened with PSA plants, it emphasizes that it is important to ensure that this PSA plant remains fully functional.
“All steps must be taken for the right maintenance and maintenance of the plant,” Bhushan said.
“All health facilities that provide inpatient care and oxygen therapy must have enough medical oxygen buffer stock for at least 48 hours,” he said.
Bhushan said all health facilities must have an adequate oxygen cylinder inventory along with a backup stock and a strong recharge system.
It must also be ensured that this cylinder is filled and stored.
“All districts must ensure that the oxygen concentrator supplied to them is fully functional.
Keep and the right maintenance they need to be ascertained,” he said.
All high-level health facilities must have life support equipment including ventilators, bipap, spo2 systems and related consumables in sufficient quantities to respond to the needs that arise.
All infection prevention protocols must be adopted when using an oxygen delivery device and equipment in all health facilities, he said.
Bhushan asks the country and UTS to ensure optimal use of all oxygen delivery equipment and devices, and the spread of HR is quite trained in all facilities.
As suggested, training Oxygen Wise steward facilities must be completed in the next few days.
The Ministry of Health Jointly with the Ministry of Skills & Entrepreneurship Development has held a 10-hour training for PSA factory operators for daily operations, 40 hours of main coach training and 180 hours of PSA shooting training for a large number of people in all states.
The oxygen control room must be revived at the state and UT level for fast resolution problems and challenges related to oxygen, Bhushan states.
All states have been asked to ensure the dormitory of all health care facilities that utilize oxygen to the ODA digital platform, directly or through the state fire, the letter states.
