Thiruvananthapuram: The center has asked all states, including Kerala, to strictly ensure that everyone who holds more than two firearms must be asked to deposit the third with the authorities, which will then be delicensed.
In accordance with communication from the Ministry of Home Affairs for additional Head Secretary (Home and Alert) T K Jose, the country has 112 people who have more than two firearms.
The government has changed the arms law, 1959, to limit the number of firearms which can be owned by individuals into two.
According to ACT Arms (Amandment), 2019, “someone who has more firearms than two in ACT (Amandment), 2019, can maintain with him two firearms and must deposit, in one year since the start, the firearm left left With the officers responsible for the nearest police station.
“They can also deposit them with a licensed dealer or, where the person is a member of the United Armed Forces, in a weapons of the unit.

“Because holding three arms is not permitted according to the law, you are asked to ensure the necessary actions for the third-sleeved deposit with the same license and ratification of their license,” said MHA’s letter.
Although the country only has 112 citizens who have three firearms, some states, especially in the north, have a large number of licenses holding three firearms.
Among America, Punjab (6,973), Uttar Pradesh (3,945), Haryana (2,524), Madhya Pradesh (1,010), Rajasthan (973) and Delhi (927) have the highest number of licenses.
At the same time, among southern countries, Karnataka (529) has the highest number.
Although the amendment has limited the number of firearms into two, it has also been clarified that there is no license needed for the acquisition or ownership of small weapons that fall under the “Curio” category, which has been defined as a small arm produced at least 50 years before the date At present or certified by the museum curator that is regulated by the government or who comes at least half of the monetary value of the fact that it is a novel, rare, strange, or related to some historical, period or events.
