Making the suburbs safer, urging activists

MySuru: The city witnessed a lot of protests on Thursday against a gang rape.
Activists belonging to various organizations held a demonstration in front of the deputy commissioner’s office and urged the government to begin decisive action against the defendant.
They also urge the government to make the suburbs safe for people.
All India Cultural Women’s Organizations, All Indian Democratic Student Organizations, All Indian Democratic Youth Organizations, Mahila Rakshana Pade, Gembada Gudi Foundation and ABVP activists held protests.
Agitator demanded that the police conduct a quick investigation and ensure the defendant was punished.
They expressed the fear that the student community felt insecure because of the incident of rape gang.
They urged the police to increase safety measures throughout the city, especially on the edges.
They also looked for regular patrols in the quiet area to ensure criminals did not use them as their decline.
