Pune: Restaurateur Sheetha Chacko, who lost his father earlier this year, has decided to dedicate Onam Sadhya in his memory.
“We arranged some pop-up food festivals, where he made various grilled kerala among other dishes.
He really wants to do something big for Onam, so we fulfill his desire by serving the Sadhya Grand Onam at the restaurant,” said Partner Darbar Deccan in Khahwa.
This year, Onam will be celebrated on August 21.
Many restaurants serving Kerala cuisine will serve Onam Sadhya during the weekend, and plan the chef’s house to send traditional parties at home too.
Chef Piyush Menon said, “We began preparing 2-3 days earlier.
Because many vegetables are involved in making parties, we need a source, cleanse, peel and cut it.
Many coconuts must be grated, and milk needs to be extracted.
On day serving, we will cook Food.
“He added,” Sadhya is an experience.
Along with 25 items, we also sent banana leaves and some instructions on how to serve food on it.
“Malalale is happy to be eating outside, but many also plan to make a party at home.
“Because this is the weekend, we will make Sadhya at home on Saturday and go to eat it on Sunday,” said Hadadent Resident Arun Dasan, added that his family members had been fully vaccinated in the celebration.
Jayanthi Santosh, from Pimpri Chinchwad, prefers to stay in quality time for his family.
“Last year, we could not do much at Onam, it was difficult to even get banana leaves because of restrictions.
This year, our family members will go home, while some of us make POOKAH outside the home, others will cook Sadhya,” he said.
