Malinga announces retirement from all forms of cricket

Colombo: Sri Lanka Pace Veteran Lasith Malinga on Tuesday announced his retirement from all forms of cricket after terrorizing the best bats in the world for more than a half a and a half decades with York people who destroyed them from low-sleeved and different arms.
A white ball legend on his own right and one of the biggest T20 Bowler, the 38-year-old was the captain of the 2014 T20 Sri Lankan World Cup winning team.
He posted a message on his social media account announced his decision.
“Hang my T20 shoes and retire from all forms of cricket! Thank everyone who supported me on my journey, and hoped to share my experience with young crickets in the coming years,” Malinga Tweeted.
“I want to give 100 percent break into my Bowling T20 shoes.
While my shoes will rest, my love for the game will never ask for a break,” Malinga smiling added in the video.
Malinga last played the T20i match for Sri Lanka on March 2020 against West Hindeka in Pallekele.
Malinga, who took a total of 546 goals in all formats for Sri Lanka, had retired from the Cricket test in 2011 and after that from Odis too but continued to play T20i for the national side.
He was not mentioned in the Sri Lankan squad for the upcoming World Cup.
Last year, he had expressed his desire to lead Sri Lanka at the T20 World Cup, which was originally scheduled to be held in Australia in October-November 2020 but will be held next month after forced delay Covid.
“I am looking forward to helping children and guiding them in the coming years,” he said when he thanked his national team and all the franchises he played, including the Mumbai India IPL team.
Malinga, who has played 122 shocking IPL matches, has 170 nail for their credit, the highest in the league rich in money, with the best Bowling numbers 5/13.
He took 107 goals at 84 T20 International, 338 scalp in 226 ODIS and 101 Wicket in 30 tests.
He was the first bowler for a bag of 100 T20i goal and finished the fourth in the highest goalkeeper category in the list behind Dwayne Bravo, Imran Tahir and Sunil Narine.
Sri Lanka Pacer has also announced his retirement from the franchise cricket in January this year after being released by Mumbai Indians.
Malinga, one of the best T20 Bowler of all time, is a key figure in the team played in the Indian Premier League, major Burni League, the Caribbean Premier League and other franchise tournaments.
During the 12-year futures in Mumbai Indians, he was part of four of the five IPL title wins but had chosen out of the 2020 tournament for personal reasons when his father did not fit well.
“The experience that I get for the past 17 years will no longer be needed in the field because I have decided to retire from the Kricket T20i marking my retirement from all cricket formats,” Malinga said in the video on the YouTube channel.
He added, “But I will continue to support the young generation who tries to lift the game spirit and I will always be there with all who loves the game.” The frightening Pacer was known for York people who threatened him, the leading goalkeeper at T20i also had two T20i tricks on his name.
Malinga also took three hat-tricks in Odi Cricket, with her appearance against South Africa at the 2007 World Cup in West Indies engraved in history.
“Today is a very special day for me,” he said.
“I want to thank everyone who supports me throughout my T20 trip.
I want to thank the members of the Sri Lanka Cricket Council.
And the Mumbai Indian Cricket Team, especially the team owner and official.” I also want to thank the team members and staff at Melbourne Stars, Kent, Rangpur Riders, Warriors Kayana, Maratha Arabia and Montero Tigers.
