Mamallapuram, Spot Holiday ECR crowded

Chennai: Mamallapuram and other vacation spots at ECR watched a surge in the number of visitors on Sunday, the first weekend after the total kuncian on Sunday was appointed.
But it might need a few more days to the hotel occupancy rate to be improved.
There was only a marginal increase in occupancy rooms because the majority of the visitors were those who drive from Chennai.
However, the return of visitors as soon as the restrictions are appointed instructions when things will be in the coming weeks.
The prohibition and excise service department allows the club and hotel to operate a bar from 11:00 to 11 nights or midnight and all the time for a star hotel with the necessary licenses is also expected to help.
Statistics Mamallapuram Town Panchayat shows that around 15,000 people visit on Sundays, which are almost equivalent to the usual weekend number.
The Ministry of Tourism said 1,550 visitors came to Muttukadu at the ECR.
The tour guide based in Mamallapuram R Stalin said that “people also arrived with a crowded transport bus from Chennai and Chengalpet.
It seems like they are waiting for the kuncian to be lifted.
Most visitors return to the same day.
We don’t have tourists from the country Other parts that usually stay for one or two days.
“The short trip consisting of locals did not translate many things in the business for resorts and hotels in ECR because they only got 50% to 60% of residence on Sundays.
A Sethuraman of TravelXs said that most hotels lost around 80% of businesses due to locking on Sundays.
“Small hotels get around 50% of occupancy on Sundays for arrival.
It will increase in the coming weeks when people start coming from the southern district and neighboring countries because restrictions have been lifted from February 1.” Chengalpet District Collector A R Rahul Nadh said that the enforcement team consisting of income, police and local body officials had been formed to ensure that the Covid protocol was not violated in tourist attractions in Mamallapuram and other tourist attractions in the district.
South Indian Hotels Association (SIHRA) Honorary Secretary T Nataarajan said that the occupancy rate in a star hotel in Mamallapuram has been low since the beginning of this year because people are afraid of traveling after a surge in the number of Covid cases.
