Banerjee also urged Gadkari for a three-level transportation system, which would allow vehicles to simultaneously travel underground, on the surface, and on flyovers in a solid area.
This can be a “best solution” considering the acquisition of land in difficult bengal, he said.
“We have also asked to build several flyovers in Kolkata,” he said.
The source said that during the discussion about the NH expansion that connects West Bengal with Bangladesh at the Petrapole-Benadapol border, Banerjee said the land acquisition was almost impossible when his residence.
In this case, highways services suggest that the elevated highway can be a way out, the source added.
