Mamata Banerjee blamed Jharkhand for ‘man-made floods’

Kolkata: Chairman of the Minister of Mamata Banerjee has mobilized the entire administration, including the minister, to overcome what he calls “man-made flood” before he conducted on Saturday air surveys in the district inundated after the release of 2.75 lakh cusecs by Damodar Valley Corporation in the night intervention on Thursday-Friday.
“This is a man-made flood.
Heavy rain in Jharkhand.
Bengal suffered for it.
They released water without previous information,” CM said on Friday.
“We sent our ministers to various districts that were flooded to do as much as possible for the maroon in front of Puja Durga.
We carry heavy baths in Bihar and Jharkhand.
They released water at 3am when people fell asleep,” he added.

Subrata minister Mukherjee will camp in Bankura from Monday to Wednesday, and Minister of Law Moloy Ghatak, accompanied by MP Trinamool Kalyan Bandyopadhyay, will visit Purulia-Bankura on Friday-Saturday.

Banerjee said Bengal brought a burden of a choking dam at Jharkhand.
“AasyiSi flood yesterday, despite the low-cost water.
Large spans of East Burdwan, Bankura, Purulia are underwater.
The area in Hooghly and Howrah is also flooded,” he said.
“But this does not have to have a Jharkhand government carry out regular Panchet, Maithon and tenukhat dams that functions far below storage capacity,” he continued.
“This dam can then store 2 additional cusec lats, prevent flooding.” Banerjee appealed to the people and clubs to contribute to the CM Relief Fund.
“This is not funds like PM care.
The money donated to CM Relief Fund is taken into account,” he said.
The district under the DVC command area such as Western Burdwan, Bankura, Purulia, Hooghly (Arambag, Pursura, Khanakul) and Howrah was flooded because of heavy water release even after the shower at Bengal Ganges on Thursday night.
This release has a cascading effect on rivers side by side in Midnapore Barat, Birbhum and Murshidabad such as Rupnarayan, Damodar and Darakwar flowing above extreme danger levels.
Bengal President BJP Sukanta Majumdar did not buy CM claims that the state government was not intimidated before liberation.
“DVC does give prior intimacy.
I have a copy of the letter.
We expect this kind of statement from CM.
Why does he not take adequate precautions before?” He said.
