Kolkata: Chairman of the Minister of Mamata Banerjee on Wednesday held a case of the caste advisory board scheduled for Nabanna and said the government had reduced the process of issuing caste certificates while the budget allocation for the department had been upgraded six times from RS 360 Crore in 2011 to 2011 RS 2,171 Crore now.
Banerjee said that if one member of the Dalit family already has a caste certificate, the other can easily get the same thing through reference.
He, however, directed officials to make the necessary questions and ensure zero abuse.
According to CM, Bengal published 17.35 lakh caste certificates last year while 1.14 CRORE SC, ST and OBC certificates were issued for the past 10 years.
He said 10,241 caste members scheduled to be employed by the government in 10 years and therefore, the percentage of work rose from 13.5% in 2011 to 19% in 2021.
Banerjee said 20 lakh houses for the caste family scheduled to be built in five years to front.
While 40,000 Dalits have received retirement of Rs 1,000 every month.
He added that 81 lakh students from the post-matriculation scholarship community, 80,000 were available from dormitory facilities and last year, 171 students from the state were chosen for IIT and Medical / Engineering Colleges.
At the meeting, CM also accumulated praise at Balagarh MLA and Head of Dalit Sahitya Academy of Mano Mano Bapari, a rickshaw puller at the beginning of his life which then wrote many books.
