Kolkata: Chairman of the Trinamool Mamata Banerjee Congress on Saturday announced the National Work Committee of 20 members in the midst of riots that grew in the party.
Banerjee will later mention the carrier of a new office from the party, senior leader TMC Partha Chatterjee told reporters after the meeting at the residence of the Minister of West Bengal.
This announcement was seen as an offer to confirm Banerjee’s control over the party, and aroused a dispute between the TMC old guard part and the next generation leaders.
“After Mamata Banerjee was re-elected as party chairman, he had announced a small committee to care for a party.
Today there was a committee meeting, and at the meeting, he had announced a new national work committee of a party,” Chatterjee said.
