Mamata handed education, housing in the adivated area

SILIGURI: Chairman of the Minister of Mamata Banerjee on Tuesday announced a number of projects with a focus on education, housing and pipe water supply to the adivated household.
He set a target of building a house of 20 lakh in five years and established 100 new English high schools in the adivated area in the next three years.
CM also received a proposal from the BJP public representative who was present at the West Bengal Tribes Advisory Board meeting held at Uttya near Siliguri.
Banerjee announced RS 1,000 monthly allowances for Majhis (Boatmen).
The state government has invited opposition members to meetings.
The Head of BJP Whip in the Bengal of the Western Assembly and Madarihat Mla Manoj Tigga, BJP Uttar Malda MP Khagen Murmu and former MP BJP from Alipurduar Baseatrat Tirkey is a member of the West Bengal Tribe Advisory Council.
“We were invited to the council meeting.
I can’t join because of my preoccupation, but my party colleagues BJP Malda Mpa Mp Khagen Murmu and the former MP Basahatir Tirkey from Alipurduar attended the meeting,” Tigga said.
BJP leader said this was not the only chance when they were invited to the meeting.
“We also attended the last council meeting held at Nabanna,” he added.
The Chief Whip BJP wants CM to call the opposition at the meeting he holds in the district.
Banerjee told Board members about his plan to establish 500 new schools for students who speak OL Chiki and 100 other schools with Nepal, Urdu, Hindi, Kamtapuri as a media instruction.
“The state government has made a six-fold budget increase compared to the allocation of social welfare in 2011,” added the chairman of the minister.
Murmu said CM appreciated several proposals he debated at meetings such as establishing hostels and training centers for adivated students.
