Agartala: Claiming that No Bengali from Assam has gone to Rajya Sabha for decades, the leader of the Trinamool Congress (TMC) Sushmita Dev, who was nominated by the party for a house on bypoll, said on Tuesday that Head of West Bengal Mamata Banerjee had a serious plan for Northeast.
“I am very grateful to my leader, Mamata in that he has given me the opportunity to submit a nomination and oppose the selection of Rajya Sabha.
It is not important that Sushmita Dev has got it.
There are several messages in it,” The TMC leader told Ani.
“First, the Trinamool Congress once again proves that more women in parliament are their vision and beliefs.
Second, Mamata has given a strong message to the Northeast by giving someone from the area the opportunity to oppose the Sabha’s Rajya election where Mola West Bengal will Choose.
That means he has a serious plan for the northeast.
And, I also cannot deny the fact that for decades no Bengali from Assam has gone to Rajya Sabha.
“Asked about Tripura the government suspected of denying permission to the leader of TMC Abhishek Padusyatra Banerjee , Dev said it was very clear that the BJP regime here was very afraid of the charisma and abhishek determination.
“It is a single reason they consistently deny Padyatra Abhishek.
We want to see how long the BJP government will keep tigers like Abhishek Banerjee from Tripura.” TMC on Tuesday nominated by Dev, which joined the recent party, as a nomination for Rajya Sabha Bypoll from West Bengal.
Dev, a former MP Congress member from Silchar, Assam, joined TMC last month in front of the Abhishek Party leader, Derek O ‘Brien and others.
He is a leading figure outside West Bengal to join TMC.
