Kolkata: Bengal Head of West Bengal Mamata Banerjee on Thursday claimed that the spyware pegasus scandal, which was broken earlier this week, “worse than the watergate scandal” which occurs during the Nixon presidency in the US and is called the use of spyware as “super emergency.” The main minister urged Civil society, students, media people to rise protest against spyware abuse.
Banerjee also showed that the details of the election strategy meeting which he held with Prashant Kishor was known to be those who put spyware.
“Pegasus is worse than the Watergate scandal; it is a super emergency,” Banerjee said at a press conference at the State Secretariat here.
The watergate scandal initially involved a break-in clandestine to the Democratic Party headquarters in Washington, but eventually included the use of income and internal service officers in political battles.
He also said that even RSS, considered the BJP ideological master to not avoid spy bids.
