New Delhi: Head of West Bengal Minister Mamata Banerjee will file a nomination for Bypoll to the Bhabanipur assembly chair on September 10.
Banerjee, who lost the election of Nandigram, had to win this poll to maintain his position.
Overcoming the convention of TMC workers in Kolkata’s Chetla, Mamata said Sobhandebeb Chattopadhyay, who won the Bhabnipur assembly chair and then resigned, would contest from Khardaha.
“He has resigned for me.
He will continue as a minister,” he said.
Bypoll will be held on September 30 along with the general election to two seats in the Murshidabad District – Samserganj and Jangipur where polling stores cannot be held during the election of eight phase assembly earlier this year.
Vote counting will take place on 3.
