Coimbatore: A 24-year-old man who was seriously injured after a fast car about the bicycle where he drove a piliar in Salem-Kochi National Highway a few days ago, died without responding to care at Coimbatore Medical College and Hospital (CMCH) here on Friday morning.
The police identified the deceased like K ajithkumar, residents of Salem.
A police said Ajithkumar drove a pendant on a bicycle with a 22-year-old Arun on July 24, when a car that quickly hit the bicycle from behind near Magudanchavadi in Salem and drove away.
Ajithkumar and Arun rushed to the government of Mohan Kumaramangalam Medical College and hospital in Salem with a severe head injury.
Ajithkumar then shifted to CMC, where he died on Friday morning.
Postmortem will be carried out on Saturday.
CMCH authorities say they have told Salem rural police about Ajithkumar’s death.
Cop said Arun was still undergoing treatment at a government hospital in Salem.
He said the accident was recorded on a car dash camera and his recording became a viral on social media.
“Police Magudanchavadi has registered a case and arrested two people in the case on July 27.”
