Coimbatore: Coimbatore rural police arrested a 35-year-old man because he killed his mother-in-law at Vadakkukadu in Nadupuni near the Pollachi.
The police said the man lived with his family in his old house -in-law.
He scolded his in-laws during verbal quarrels and asked them to end life.
Parents of in-laws consume cow dung powder (chemical dyes) and treated at the Polachi Government Hospital.
His mother-in-law died on Friday morning without responding to treatment.
The man who was arrested had been identified as D Tamilselvan, 35, from Thottathusalai in the pudur mg.
He is a farmer.
He was ordered under section 294 (b) (said obscene words), 323 (punishment because it voluntarily caused pain) and 306 (suicide reduction) from the Indian punishment code.
M Dhandapani, 55, from Vadakkukadu in Nadupuni run a grocery store.
He lives with his wife D Maragatham, 50.
The couple made their daughter, Sathhyapriya, 27, married Tamilselvan eight years ago.
Sathhyapriya and Tamilselvan have a son named T Hementh, 7.
Sathhyapriya gave birth to a baby girl three months ago, and he had lived with his parents for the past three months.
Tamillelvan also lives with him.
Preliminary questions revealed that Tamilselvan saw his son watching television and scolding his wife.
He opened the television and beat his son because he did not concentrate on his studies.
He defeated his wife.
His father-in-law and his mother-in-law intervened and advised him not to pamper the fight with their daughter.
Tamillelvan beat his father-in-law who left home immediately.
He told his mother-in-law that he had no right to disturb his family’s problems and told him to end his life.
The couple decided to end their lives and consumed cow dung powders at their residence on Thursday night.
About 12.15 in the morning on Friday, Maragatham began vomiting.
Sathhyapriya knows that his parents have consumed toxic substances.
He asked her husband to admit it to a government hospital in Pollachi.
He made his parents treated at the hospital.
Maragatham died without responding to treatment.
Dhadapani, who received consciousness after treatment, revealed the incident to the police inspector Vadakkipalalayam Shanthi who registered a case against Tamilselvan and arrested him on Friday night.
