Coimbatore: City Police arrested a 28-year-old man on Wednesday because stealing 20 sovereign gold ornaments from a house in Lic Colony in Selvapuram here.
The person arrested was identified as N Selvaraj, a native of Goripallayam in Madurai, a worker.
He lives with his family in Telungupalayam in Coimbatore City.
“He stole ornaments from the house of the Saravana Ashokkumar, a motorcycle mechanic.
The Ashokkumar family has been going to relatives’ homes and he is alone on Tuesday.
He locked the ground floor door and slept on the first floor.
Selvaraj reached around 2am and watched a locked house .
He opened the key to steal valuables, “said a police officer.
Selvapuram police collected CCTV recordings from the area and arrested Selvaraj on Wednesday afternoon.
He was returned in custody of the justice and nesting in Sathyamangalam sub-jail.tnn
