New Delhi: A 23-year-old man died and his cousin was seriously injured after they were exchanged for a group at a birthday party, police said on Thursday.
The police said Virender Singh aka Vicky died and his cousin – Nitin aka Kishan Singh (22) – was hospitalized after he received a stabbing injury while trying to save the victim.
The incident occurred on Wednesday in the Prem Nagar area here.
The police said the quarrel between the victim and the defendant at the party under the influence of alcohol on a small problem caused a stabbing incident.
Nitin along with his cousin Vicky went to attend the birthday party of their friends – represented and Rajesh where they consumed alcohol, police said.
A fight took place on a small problem after the defendant stabbed Vicky with a knife.
Nitin was seriously injured when he intervened and tried to save his cousin, said the police.
The defendant has been identified as a Vivek (22), Rajesh (18), both employees at the call center in Nangloi, Pintoo (21), Jitender (23) and Govinda, police said, adding two teenagers was also involved in the incident.
Vivek, who came out with parole in connection with the 2016 murder case in Nangloi here, and Pintoo was arrested, said a senior police officer, added an attempt to accuse the remaining.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (Rohini) Pravan Tayal said, “A case was registered under the murder (302), trying to murder (307) and 34 (actions carried out by several people in the continuation of general intentions) from the Criminal Code to the Prem Nagar police station.
We have arrested Two people and understood two teenagers in this matter.
“Nitin helped his father in his shop to repair a sewing machine while Vicky worked as a plumber, the police said.
